The Konjac Sponge was recommended to me by  the sales assistant at my local health food shop.

I was struggling to find a face cloth that I could use that would remove my make up without requiring a lot of cleanser. I have tried all sorts of face cloth in the past, made of varying  natural fibres, nothing really seem to remove my make up. As usual, after chatting with the very friendly sales assistant I did my research; I even contacted the company (I’ve become that person who researches everything I purchase).

I had never heard of the Konjac sponge and I was surprised to learn that it is made from a plant. The unique properties of the plant means the sponge is made up of a list of essential minerals, vitamins and other essential ingredients needed for healthy glowing skin. It’s also vegan and cruelty free, there are different sponges suitable for different skin types and it is extremely affordable no matter what your budget. There is an entire range including a body sponge, travel kit and baby sponge that is suitable for infants.

When I opened the  Konjac Sponge I was a little bit intrigued as to how this rock hard sponge  was going to gently , but efficiently cleans my face. Once I rinsed the sponge and it was fully hydrated it magically became soft and fluffy.  As soon as I  started to message my skin  with the damp sponge  not only did it remove my make-up but, it was gently exfoliating the skin. What impressed me even more was this amazing little sponge was able to completely cleans my face without, me using any cleanser. I don’t wear any heavy  foundation, but I do wear black mascara, the Konjac Sponge  was able to remove my eye make-up  gently leaving my skin soft and rejuvenated.

Over the next few weeks I began to use the sponge every evening as part of my evening beauty ritual. The Konjac sponge retained its shape and texture and over the following weeks, it continued to give my skin a deep cleans each time. At the end of a long day my skin felt rejuvenated and the gentle exfoliating action left my skin with a healthy glow. It worked fantastically at reducing the puffiness around my eyes caused by the change of season. On  the odd occasion where I did wear heavier than normal make-up,  I simply added a little bit of cleanser to my face and use the Konjac sponge as normal. Its  an easy-to-use product and after each use simply rinse  and leave to air dry,  it is the perfect product for someone looking to reduce their chemical exposure.

I have now begun to use the body sponge , called the body wave in the evenings as well.  It’s a fantastic body exfoliating its  brilliant at this time of the year when winter can wreak havoc on skin.  I cannot wait to see what other products are developed in the future.
